Antique Art Deco Colombian Emerald Ring

$4,350.00

The emerald, the principal stone of this elegant Art Deco ring, evokes fresh verdant fields of summer. It is a beautifully vivid stone in an emerald cut. Its mossy scattering of inclusions, often found in emeralds, makes this ring even more alluring. These inclusions are known as “jardin”, French for garden. We find symmetry in the two sets of bright Round Brilliant cut diamonds arranged as steps. This setting represents one of the most beloved styles of the Art Deco era. A graceful embossing on the sides of the band is a detail that reminds us that superb craftsmanship continued to flourish during this period. This timeless beauty would be an impressive choice for an engagement ring and would stack wonderfully with wedding and anniversary bands. This dazzler would make an exciting cocktail or dinner ring as well.

The ring is in very good antique condition. With emerald, being a relatively 'soft' stone, it is no wonder that the passage of time and wear have left minor abrasions on it. These imperfections of age do not detract from the ring's beauty at all, but they have been factored into the pricing. Gently cleaned and ready to wear. Ring box for display only and not included in the ring purchase.

Metal surfaces could have light marks or scratches, and rings may be out of round. The stones, too, could have surface wear or sometimes chips. Evidence of repair could also present itself as imperfections, due to the general techniques and instruments available at the time.
