If I could choose just one necklace to wear, it would be a pearl necklace. And here is one such necklace, and it is one of my best antique finds ever. Dating to the late Edwardian to early Art Deco period, c.1910-1920, it is a graduated, double strand set with 188 creamy pearls with a pink sheen. They have a wonderful luster, smooth, and are well matched in color. But the piece de resistance of this necklace is its clasp, a gem studded jewel comprising step cut sapphires and old cut diamonds. This clasp gives these pearls a character like no other. What do I think about pearls? Pearls are to a woman what armor is to a knight!
