Antique Edwardian Diamond Five Stone Half Hoop Ring

$1,800.00

The Edwardian era (1901-1914) continued to produce jewelry styles that came into vogue during the preceding Victorian era (1837-1901). This lovely diamond five stone half hoop ring c.1901, is one such example comprising chunky old cut stones. Old diamonds, before the advent of machines, were hand cut, and each unique stone was meant to dazzle in the candlelight. These deep, sparkly stones have broad facets and tall crowns, reflecting light in a magical way. They are set to an 18k band, and the handcrafted scroll carving on the gallery is not to be missed. The ring has a “big look” and could work as a proposal ring for an engagement, wedding celebration, or anniversary. In addition to its versatility, it's also a practical choice; it's comfortable and will stack nicely with other rings and bands.

For a ring that is over a hundred years old, this ring is in very good antique condition. Consistent with its age, there is surface wear to the stones, but nothing significant to mention. The prongs are secure, and the setting is in good form. Gently cleaned and ready to wear. Ring box for display only and not included in the ring purchase.
