Antique English Pink Sapphire and Diamond Ring

$1,375.00

This authentic English antique ring from the Edwardian era, circa 1910, is a marriage of trilogy and bypass styles. The three stones in a trilogy style are said to represent the past, present, and the future, while the bypass style typically symbolizes the union of two stones set within the twining of the band. Both romantic and meaningful, this ring is quintessential of Edwardian jewelry craftsmanship.

The ring is coronet set, enabling light to illuminate the intensely vibrant pink sapphire and the brilliant Old European diamond pair. The beautiful contours of the bypass shoulders are studded with 10 smaller OEC diamonds. Displaying crisp faceting and open culets, these diamonds, even the smaller ones, would have been hand cut. This would be a lovely choice for an engagement ring and an ideal ring with which to celebrate an important occasion. It would be beautiful as a ‘right hand’ ring.

In very good antique, pre loved condition showing surface wear consistent with age and use. The pink sapphire has two tiny nibbles along facets, and one of them could be visible from certain angles. One of the shoulder diamonds has a tiny chip, which can also be seen when viewed very closely. These battle scars of age and wear do not detract from the beauty of the ring more than 100 years old; however, they have been factored into the pricing. Gently cleaned and ready for wear. Ring box for display only and not included in the ring purchase.
