Antique Victorian Old European Diamond Five Stone Half Hoop Ring
This antique diamond half hoop is a beautifully handcrafted classic Victorian period (1837-1901) ring featuring Old European Cut diamonds that are fiery, bright, and luminous. The center stone in particular, is of fine quality, with an open culet and a very pretty floral faceting. Antique diamonds of this era were hand cut, their characterful facets meant to sparkle in the candlelight. The ring is modeled in 18k gold, with a lovely scroll carving on the gallery. This is a versatile ring that would make an excellent choice as an engagement ring, a wedding ring, or an anniversary band. It stacks beautifully with other rings and bands. The increased popularity of antique five-stone diamond half hoops has made sourcing more challenging, making it difficult to keep them in stock.
For a ring that is over a hundred years old, this ring is in very good antique condition. The stones show some wear, but there are no chips or nibbles, often found in old diamond bands. One of the end diamonds is a Brilliant Cut diamond, a later replacement, but well matched with the original Old European diamonds. The band is also a later replacement and was probably assayed and hallmarked during the refurbishing work. The prongs are secure, and the setting is in good form. Gently cleaned and ready to wear. The ring box for display only and not included in the ring purchase.

Antique and vintage jewelry are sold as is. They are pre-owned and will bear signs of wear commensurate with their age, which may or may not have been stated in the product description. Metal surfaces could have light marks or scratches, and rings may be out of round. The stones, too, could have surface wear or sometimes chips. Evidence of repair could also present itself as imperfections, due to the general techniques and instruments available at the time. If I had been made aware that a stone was replaced and/or the piece was restored in any way, I would disclose that information in the product description.
