Aquamarine Ring with Diamonds and French Cut Sapphires
This aquamarine ring is quite possibly one of the most romantic rings I have encountered. Two elements immediately flood the senses. The emphasis on linearity and symmetry, characteristic of the Art Deco period, melds with the harmony of the colors in the contrasting shades of blues and the bright diamonds. Stylistically, this ring represents one of the most iconic of the Art Deco era. The vivid sky blue emerald cut aquamarine, the brilliant star of the ring, is seated in a diamond studded basket. Tapering down to the band, arranged as steps, is a line of French Cut sapphires alternating with a line of diamonds. This ever so stylish ring exhibits fine, delicate craftsmanship. This would make an impressive choice for an engagement ring, dinner ring, or a ‘right hand ring.’
This ring bears full English hallmarks for the year 2002 with the metal purity guarantee symbol. The English hallmarking system for platinum began in 1975; prior to 1975, platinum hallmarking was optional. It is believed that the ring is an original from the 1920s, and the stamps were added later, a practice often seen. However, there is no way to be sure given the newer stamp. The ring is in excellent condition with light wear to the ring. Gently cleaned and ready to wear. Ring box for display only and not included in the ring purchase.

Antique and vintage jewelry are sold as is. They are pre-owned and will bear signs of wear commensurate with their age, which may or may not have been stated in the product description. Metal surfaces could have light marks or scratches, and rings may be out of round. The stones, too, could have surface wear or sometimes chips. Evidence of repair could also present itself as imperfections, due to the general techniques and instruments available at the time.
