This rare jewel, dating to c.1820s, is a Georgian era (1714-1837) pendant converted from an antique jewel component. Based on a small, non-functioning bar on its closed back, it was most likely a brooch in its previous incarnation. This intriguing piece features emeralds and pearls arranged in an abstract design that evokes the sheaf, a motif not commonly found in jewelry design. With the subtle green sparkles from the emeralds, the little jewel sheaf pinned to one’s dress or vest would have been a call to success and well-being, given its association with harvest and prosperity. The antique Table Cut emeralds, with their range of color intensity, make this piece a very charming find. The 14k bale with chased edging is a handcrafted custom addition made to pair with this pendant.
In fine antique condition. Minor wear to the stones commensurate with age and use. Lightly cleaned and ready to wear. Box for display only and not included in the ring purchase.
