Antique Early Art Deco Amethyst and Diamond Ring

$2,550.00

This antique ring, c.1920, features a gemstone in the prettiest shade of vivid violetish purple. With its floral faceting, excellent transparency, and a tall crown, this is a striking, characterful amethyst. Tab prongs hold the stone just at the girdle in a highly unusual and ornate setting resembling a crown. The goldwork around the amethyst is whimsical and romantic. The ring is crafted in 12ct rose gold, a gold standard used in Britain between 1854 and1932. Surviving pieces of authentic 12ct jewelry is rare today. A gorgeous heirloom, it’s perfect as a cocktail ring or a right-hand ring. And if you’re searching for an unusual engagement ring, this is your ring!
